Fran Silvestre Arquitectos
Valencia · Spain — Geometric Precision at the Edge of the Possible
A studio that treats architecture as applied mathematics — where structural logic and aesthetic clarity arrive at the same answer, and where beauty is the natural consequence of getting everything right.

Biography
The geometry of silence
Fran Silvestre founded his studio in Valencia in 1999 with a singular preoccupation: the relationship between structural form and the experience of space. His buildings do not demonstrate technology — they absorb it until it becomes invisible. The result is architecture of a disarming quietness that contradicts the boldness of its formal decisions.
Working primarily on residential projects across Spain and internationally, the studio has built a body of work defined by extreme formal economy. Every element serves a purpose that is simultaneously structural and aesthetic. The cantilever is not a gesture — it is the correct answer to the question of how to position a living room above a view. The double-height is not a luxury — it is the proportion that makes the space feel right.

Philosophy
Structure as expression
Fran Silvestre works from the structural system outward. The geometry of a building, in his practice, is determined first by how it stands, and second by how it is inhabited. These two answers are never in conflict because they are the same answer — a resolution that produces the characteristic calm of his interiors.
The studio works with a limited material palette: white concrete, glass, and the occasional use of natural stone or timber as a thermal and acoustic contrast. The whiteness is not aesthetic minimalism — it is a deliberate decision to allow the geometry to speak without competition. The shadows cast by a cantilevered volume at three in the afternoon are, in this architecture, a design element of the first order.
What Fran Silvestre offers Kaluma Living is a proof of concept: that the highest formal ambition and the deepest residential liveability are not in tension. His homes are extraordinary to look at and, more importantly, extraordinary to live inside.
Iconic Projects
Three works that define the studio
Aluminium House
Altea, Costa Blanca
A single volume suspended over a Mediterranean hillside, encased in a continuous aluminium skin that changes colour through the day. The floor plan is a single open space oriented entirely toward the sea. The structure is invisible inside.
House on the Cliff
Alicante, Spain
A cantilevered volume projected over a sheer drop to the sea. The living room floor is glass, allowing you to see the water below your feet. The structural resolution is as elegant as the experience it creates.
Balint House
Valencia region, Spain
A suspended rectangular volume above a pine forest, touching the ground at a single point. The architectural concept and the structural solution are the same thing — a demonstration of the studio's fundamental principle.

Why Kaluma
What his work teaches us
Fran Silvestre demonstrates that the most rigorous formal thinking produces the most liveable spaces. His buildings are not exercises in stylistic preference — they are arguments, resolved in three dimensions, for how architecture should address its site, its structure, and its inhabitants simultaneously. The properties we curate aspire to this standard: homes where every decision was the right one, and where the rightness is felt immediately upon arrival.
Common questions
Fran Silvestre architecture — frequently asked
What is Fran Silvestre Arquitectos known for?
Fran Silvestre Arquitectos is known for geometric precision, suspended and cantilevered volumes, and a minimalist formal language in luxury residential architecture. Based in Valencia, the studio creates homes of extraordinary structural clarity — often suspended over cliffs or hillsides — where architecture and engineering arrive at the same formal answer.
What style of architecture does Fran Silvestre represent?
Fran Silvestre represents an architecture of radical formal economy: white concrete, large glazed surfaces, and minimal material palette. The studio's work is characterised by structural decisions that become aesthetic ones — cantilevers that float living spaces above landscapes, and floor plans that dissolve into panoramic views.
Why does Kaluma Living reference Fran Silvestre Arquitectos?
Fran Silvestre's architecture demonstrates that the highest formal ambition and residential liveability are not in conflict. The properties Kaluma Living curates on the Costa del Sol aspire to this standard — homes where every structural and spatial decision was the right one, and where that rightness is felt from the moment of arrival.
